The University offers two main teaching formats for our distance learning:
The format distance means that there are seminars that you must visit in person at a certain study centre. Teaching and communication are otherwise carried out online via platforms and web seminars.
The format net-based distance means that there are no physical meetings. You can carry out your studies from wherever you are. All teaching and communication are carried out online via learning platforms and web seminars.
There are study centres all over Sweden where you as a distance student can gain access to technology and practical help during your studies. It is a local meeting place where you meet other students, teachers and tutors. Here, you as a distance student will find facilities and equipment like video conferencing studios, computers, group study rooms, copy machines etcetera. You may also take your written examination here.
At the University of Gävle, there are a number of tools to use to participate in courses, to communicate with each other and to handle media material.
There are a number of different support and service functions for you as a student, for example study counselling, the writing centre and IT-support.
The Library offers services which will make it easier for you as a distance student. You can, for instance, access the Library's databases, borrow e-books and request interlibrary loans from home.
