Title pages for student theses

This page is under development. Templates for further departments will soon be published.

Further down on this page you will find Word 2007 templates for title pages to integrate with your thesis.

Instructions

NOTE:
If you use Mozilla Firefox, you can open the template directly as a Word copy and start editing.
If you use Internet Explorer, you must first save the template to your drive and then open it as a Word copy for editing.

The fields for publication type, level, credits and main field of study have drop down menus with fixed alternatives.

The published template has now been adjusted to mimimize the formatting problems associated with the Swedish templates

  • Edit the Word copy of the template and save it.
  • To insert the text file, put the cursor at the top of page 3.
  • In the Word menu choose: Insert > Object > Text from file
  • Browse to your text file > Mark it > Insert > Save and adjust

If you face insoluble formatting problems when inserting the text file you can edit the title page and the text file separately in Word and convert them to separate PDF files. Then you can merge the PDF files into a single PDF file with the software Adobe Acrobat Professional which is installed on a number of computers in the university library. You can also use some free services and software to combine the PDF files:

http://www.pdf995.com/index.html

In the DiVA system you should publish the PDF version of your thesis.
