Private laptops

It is also possible to print from your private laptop by installing a client software.

  • Download the file
  • Double click on the file and the installation will start automatically
  • Restart your computer
  • Done

When you print to Follow Print a dialog box will appear requesting your username and password. The session is valid for 10 hours.

Notice! You need to be connected to the wireless network or the campus network for the printouts to work.

Recommended new version (Cirrato 1.4.12) .dmg-file for installation ONLY on OSX 10.6.x / 10.7.x (Intel Mac)

HowTo: MacOSX 10.5/6/7 print queue install procedure  

Download the suitable .dmg-file (Cirrato HiG_mac.1.4.3.dmg or 1.4.12) from the links above and extract the program package. Double-klick the program-package icon and allow the installation process to complete by selecting "Installera". When requested (normally) you must enter a valid administrator username and password for the installation program to perform the necessary MacOSX-system modification actions. 

Two (2) programs will be added to the Applications (Program)-folder in your MacOSX-computer.
These programs are:  CirratoAgent and PrinterInstaller

After a successful program installation you must either open a web-page at the url -  https://cirrato.hig.se/cirrato/queueinstall/external link to fetch the installation script file, or download the pre-configured zipped "installation" file from this location (Cirratosh-file).
(Note! The https-link above is accessable only after a internet connection has been established to the Wi-Fi network at HIG by performing a normal IP-login).

The cirratosh-file must be allowed to be accessed/opened by the PrinterInstaller application for queue to be created.
If you use the link to install, choose MAC_Follow_Print in the list and acknowledge the installation of a new Printer queue on your system.

In the System settings, section Printers/Faxes there should now be a new printer icon visible in the list of your printers installed.
Note: To make sure all printer drivers are available to enable printing you are now recommended to run a normal MacOSX System Update.

Printing,
To enable sending of a print job to the Mac_follow_print -queue you MUST first authenticate yourself towards the printing system by starting the CirratoAgent and supplying a valid username and password.
If your verification is successful you will see such message, if not a "Authentication Failed" message will be shown.
 
If authentication fails it is recommended to install a specific software:
