Where can you use IP-login


You can access wired IP-login in these locations: Building 99 in the lecture rooms on bottom floor in student areas on each floorValhall The area outside Valhall

Wireless network


The network is accessible in public areas within the campus. Instructions below;The network supports 802.11a/b/g. The library and the area outside Valhall is also supported by 802.11n. The name (SSID) on our wireless network is: "hig".

How does it work


Connect either the wired or wireless network.Open a browser. Write any web address. Your will see an web page with information. You can then log on. Use your usual user name and password. You have access to www2.hig.se without logging in.

What is accessible


You get internet access, i.e. you can surf. You can not use unencrypted protocols like telnet, FTP and POP3 to connect to HiG. Encrypted protocols like SSH, SFTP and HTTPS works. You can NOT connect your home directory.

Possible errors


Your network configuration must be set to accept an IP-address through DHCP. Please note, no proxy server is needed to surf the internet.
