Dr. Joseph Mitola Invited Speaker at RFMTC09

It is our great pleasure to announce that Dr. Joseph Mitola III, Distinguished Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology, also known as the “Father of Cognitive Radio", has accepted our invitation to speak at RFMTC09.
The idea of cognitive radio was first presented by Dr. Mitola and Dr. Gerald Q. Maguire, in 1999. It was thought of as a fully reconfigurable wireless black-box that automatically changes its communication variables in response to network and user demands.

When first presented the idea was visionary and far from any commercial reality. However, today the development in the wireless industry is starting to catch up with Dr. Mitola´s visionary work and his ideas are now the leading star for much of the ongoing research in the area.

RFMTC09 is the second edition of the biennial event on RF Measurement Technology. The conference is organized by the Center for RF measurement Technology, at the University of Gävle on October 6-7, 2009 in Gävle, Sweden.

We, the organizers of RFMTC09 are of course both honored and thrilled about the opportunity of having such a world leading personality speaking at our conference and we encourage all engineers and researchers active in the field to participate in this unique event.
