This programme focuses on strategies and methods for supply chain management, project organization and innovative leadership applied to both established and new industrial enterprises
Programme description
The topics are closely linked to ongoing research, with the ambition to provide a combination of key approaches and methods needed to manage core challenges in contemporary businesses. Some key areas dealt with concern: strategies and techniques for efficient logistic systems and collaboration between firms, innovation management, production strategies for business excellence and methodologies for implementing quality and environmental management systems.
Most courses within the programme combine theoretical models and insights with assignments and projects in industrial firms. The ambition is to provide a comprehensive understanding of business development, not least knowledge on how to combine and balance the needs of efficiency and lean production with long term innovation capability.
The study major has a total duration of nine month taught courses (60 ECTS credits) including a thesis project work (15 ECTS credits). The programme is open to international students from all over the world.
The programme language is English. After successful completion of the programme students are awarded the Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management. (In Swedish: Magister i Industriell ekonomi).

After the studies
One ambition is to prepare students for advanced and leading assignments in industrial firms and organisations, especially when complemented with operative experiences.
Knowledge on logistics opportunities and well as methods for business development and control are useful in most business sectors. The programme also gives the student qualifications for further Ph.D. studies.

Prerequisites
A completed Bachelors Degree is the primary prerequisite. A deep knowledge in Industrial Engineering and Management is also required.
Also required is knowledge equivalent to Swedish upper secondary school course English B or equivalent to one of the following tests;
IELTS : an overall mark of 6.5 and no section
below 5.5
TOEFL (paper-based): Score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in
written test and a total score of 575
TOEFL (internet-based): Score of 20 (scale 0-30)
in written test and a total score of 90.
