Research at the F

aculty

Research at the Faculty of Engineering and Sustainable Development is in many different disciplines with a strong interdisciplinary collaboration. It occurs mainly in the profile area "built environment". Collaboration with the surrounding region is in fact a feature of the university's profile.

Building, energy and environmental technologies

In Building Quality the research is in the field EcoEffect (a method to measure and evaluate the environmental impact of a property in an imaginary life cycle), and the Urban Climate Space (purpose is to "investigate urban public spaces with regard to their microclimate and its importance for how the spaces are used and experienced").

The subject group Indoor environment conducts applied laboratory research in the fields of materials engineering, applied psychology and ventilation - air quality.

The subject group of Energy, along with Indoor environment conducts extensive research in energy and indoor climate.

Industrial Development, IT and Land Management

The Industrial Engineering and Management related research includes logistics and supply chain management (SCM), outsourcing, business innovation, lean production, work organization and TQM.

In the division Geomatics research is in GIS / GIT (Geographic Information System / Geographic Information Technology), in particular in conjunction with GIS Institute.

Electronics, Mathematics and Natural Science

Within Electronics they conduct research in radio measurements. The division is also operating in the field of characterization of high power transistors for radio amplifiers together with Uppsala University and signal processing of infrasound technology together with KTH.

To ensure the development of young engineers and other technically skilled personnel in the community, is research in technology education.

Division Mathematics and statistics conducts research in particular subject didactics, decision-, risk and policy analysis.
