Sustainable Horticulture and Conservation Biology 15 cr

About the Course

Sustainable cultivation of crops is fundamental for the management of the natural resources of our planet. In this M.Sc. course, you will learn how to cultivate horticultural crops in a sustainable way and to make use of existing natural settings to create a milieu that is conducive to conserving species and the environment. The course integrates concepts in Horticulture with those of Conservation Biology. It addresses issues on how current and future challenges to our living environment can be met, and discusses options for creating long term solutions for the sustainable co-existence of humans and natural ecosystems, in a setting that ensures future food safety and security.
For students who wish to stay the entire autumn and further their knowledge in Conservation Biology and/or techniques in research after the present course, there are two course package options available, each worth 15 ECTs:
