On Tuesday the 12th of May Gävle University welcome about five hundred students from sixth-form colleges in Hälsingland.
Every year all the sixth-form college students in the county, from years two and three, visit Gävle University. The students are given information about the university and the programmes and courses available.
The sixth-form college students in Hälsingland, from year two, are visiting on Tuesday the 12th May. All together there are about five hundred students who have signed up for the visit.
“So nice that we have the chance to inform so many from our county, about our programmes and courses. We are the higher education institution of the region, it is here we work and we have an important role to play.
At the same time it gives us the opportunity to show our impressive Campus, where brand new student flats are now ready” says Johanna Esplund, Communications Officer.
The day starts with a general welcome where the students are informed about Gävle University, why one should study here and a little about the differences between university college and sixth-form college studies.
After this the students, depending on their interests, can choose to go to three different information sessions held by university students.
New for this year is that students also get the opportunity to get a sense of what Gävle is like as a student city. They will be able to get their questions answered by representatives from Gävle Municipality, Gävlegårdarna (the municipal housing authority), Gävle students’ union and other student organisations.
During the day Swedish Student Housing will guide people round their newly built student flats on Campus.
