University of Gävle lets their students’ voices be heard in 2018 recruitment campaign

In this year’s recruitment campaign, Made by Students, the University’s students direct and make their own commercials to attract new students.

Gävle won the highly prestigious award Student City of the Year for 2017/2018. From the jury’s motivation: “A Student city that thinks ahead, is proactive and deals with things that are happening right now.”

For the University of Gävle, the work to increase student influence is central and the choice for the lead role in the recruitment campaign of the year was a simple one.

“The award Student City of the Year is the best encouragement for our work to make the student feel that they can influence their own study time here. Naturally, we want our students to be heard when we tell our new students about how good things are in Gävle and here at the University,” says Tommy Löfgren, head of communications at the University of Gävle.

Until 21 February, the university students now have the chance to compete about directing and making their own commercials on the theme “We students are in focus.”

Winning contributions will be presented during an award ceremony 28 February, and the students will then be assisted in realising their ideas for a commercial shown digitally, on TV and in streets and squares from week 11.
