University of Gävle nominated to prize for its news reporting

Digital PR Awards

Mynewsdesk, leading platform for digital communication in the Nordic countries, announced last Friday that the University of Gävle has been nominated to “Digtial PR awards 2017” in the category Education & Recruitment.

“We are proud of our nomination because it proves that our work to modernise our communication has been successful, since one of the criteria is for the content to be broader and more varied,” says Tommy Löfgren, head of communications.

Mynewsdesk is a leading platform for digital communication in the Nordic countries. Over 5000 organisations use their newsrooms on Mynewsdesk to publish and distribute news and most Swedish journalists are among its 77 000 users.

From 2017 Mynewsdesk has decided to shift its focus and change names for the award from “Newsroom of the Year” to “Mynewsdesk’s Digital PR Awards.”

“To be able to tell our readers about the University of Gävle—for instance to spread our researchers’’ important work—and then to gain recognition in this way. Well, that’s a double joy,” says Douglas Öhrbom, editor.

In the selection process, the jury looked for news reporting with a wide reach that engaged people and gave results. The nominees will now be assessed by an external jury and the winners will be announced on 7 March.
