The University Board has decided to appoint Lars Bengtsson to become the new pro vice-chancellor at the University of Gävle. The appointment lasts between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2021.
“Lars Bengtsson is an experienced leader who is initiated in, and has a deep understanding for, collaboration with the surrounding society. With his great commitment, he will contribute greatly to the future development of the University” says Vice-Chancellor Ylva Fältholm.
Lars Bengtsson is professor and heads the section in industrial engineering and management at the University of Gävle. Moreover, he directs research within innovation and production strategies and digitalisation and organisation in industrial companies.
Since 2009, he is the head of CLIP, Centre for Logistics and Innovative Production, which comprises around 20 researchers and strategists at the University of Gävle. Earlier, he has been a member of the University Board as a representative for the teaching staff and he has also been a member of the University Faculty Board.
The pro vice-chancellor acts as the deputy for the Vice-chancellor and Lars Bengtsson succeeds Nader Ahmadi, who has been pro vice-chancellor since 2016.
“I am very much honoured by the appointment as pro vice-chancellor, by the confidence shown in me. I am looking forward to work with the senior management of the University to continue the successful development of the University,” Lars Bengtsson says.
