Equality, discrimination and the equal rights of all people. The scope of the topics that come under the responsibility of the University of Gävle’s equal opportunities coordinator Kajsa Svaleryd is huge. Her job involves interaction with both students and university employees.

One day, Kajsa Svaleryd might stand at the entrance to the University, Rävhallen, together with the Gefle Student Union, serving breakfast to students; the next day, she might attend a work environment committee meeting or educate managers about equality and integration.
– My job implies taking the perspective of both the students and the university’s employees. So I work with strategy and apply an overall approach with control documents, surveys and analyses. I also collaborate a lot with the unions and give lectures.
