At a ceremony in Helsinki on Tuesday evening, the University of Gävle and Dalarna University were awarded a prize by the European Commission for their work to promote green markets and resource efficiency in small and medium-sized enterprises.
“It is great that our important work to develop knowledge exchange between enterprises and universities is recognized by the European Commission,” says Ylva Fältholm, vice-chancellor at the University of Gävle
A chance for smaller enterprises
Via the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships project, enterprises gain support from a recent graduate’s expertise to develop, while the University in turn gains important knowledge for further research.
In the collaboration with the enterprises, the University of Gävle and Dalarna University contribute with a qualified supervisor, a business coach and, if needed, with laboratory resources.
“It’s wonderful. Now, we can continue to work with new enterprises and make a difference in the Gävle-Dala region with even more energy,” says Ola Wiklund with great joy. He is the KTP coordinator at the University of Gävle.
KTP is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, Region Gävleborg and Region Dalarna.
