Since 2019, IVA presents a list of 100 researchers every year. The goal is to highlight research from Swedish higher education institutions with high potential for the private sector and thereby strengthen Sweden’s international competitiveness. This year the theme is sustainability.

From the University of Gävle, two researchers have been selected: Stephan Barthel, reader in geospatial information science, and Bahram Moshfegh, professor in energy systems.

Stephan Barthel is a researcher in sustainable urban development and founder of Urban Studio at the University of Gävle. According to Web of Science, a top global citation database, he is one of the most cited researchers in the world on sustainable urban development.

Bahram Moshfegh is a researcher within new advanced technology for cooling metals. The aim is to improve the performance and the quality of metallic material and thereby strengthen the competitiveness of the Swedish metal and engineering industry.

The researchers on the list gain the opportunity to present their research for a hundred companies at the network summit R2B, arranged by IVA in Stockholm on March 18.

The 100 List is part of an IVA project conducted together with Vinnova, PRV, Tekniföretagen, Svenskt Närinsgliv, KK-stiftelsen and Sweden’s university colleges and universities.
