AASHE is a world-leading organisation with the aim to promote sustainability in higher education in USA, and its rewards give global recognition to individuals and organisations which lead the sustainability movement in higher education.
Nuria Bautista Puig was awarded the prize for her study that analyses patterns in sustainability research, and it suggests a method for classification of scientific production in relation to UN’s global sustainable development goals.
“My study is one of the first to analyse real contributions to sustainable development. Especially, I looked for research articles that specifically mention sustainable development goals. This is a testimony to the fact that my work is recognised, and I was truly overwhelmed,” says Nuria Bautista Puig, sustainability researcher at University of Gävle.
“This prize recognizes the contribution of higher education institutions to sustainable development, and it is the only prize of its kind on this level.”
