Higher education institutions from Sweden, France, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Spain and Germany are now together taking the first step towards establishing the European University "EU_GREEN".

The main goal is to use each other's experiences to raise the quality of European higher education while giving students, researchers, university teachers and staff new opportunities for exchanges.

“Creating a European consortium would give us great opportunities to develop. There is also a great focus on sustainability which is in our profile. Imagine, for our future students the entire European University would be their campus,” Ylva Fältholm says.

Students at University of Gävle will thus become students at the University of Europe. For example, joint study programmes, in which the students study at several of the different higher education institutions during their studies, could be created.

The application for the EU_GREEN project is planned to be submitted either at the beginning of 2022 or 2023. Participating higher education institutions are: University of Extremadura, Spain; University of Parma, Italy; University of Angers, France; University of Evora, Portugal; University of Magdeburg, Germany, and University of Lodz, Poland.

The aim of this highly prestigious proposed action is that students, researchers, and staff would obtain new opportunities for internationalisation and exchanges which in turn would strengthen the quality of higher education in Europe.
