
4. Retrieve your HiG card
The HiG card gives you access to the premises as well as to the study rooms, labs and campus computers you may need during your study period. The card is also your library card as well as your copy card.

In order to retrieve your card you must be registered on your first course and be able to present a valid form of identification. The card is free for all students and has three uses. HiG stands for Högskolan i Gävle, which is Swedish for University of Gävle.
The HiG card is an access card. As a student, you can enter the University with the HiG card, every day between 05.00-24.00. You also have access to the University's general computer rooms.
You can use the HiG card as a library card if you activate it at the Library. More information in step five.
There are several copying and printing machines around campus where you can use your HiG card.
Collect your HiG card at the Reception. You must be registered in Ladok and be able to identify yourself in order to collect the card. The reception is located at the main entrance.
If your studies are in distance learning you can order your HiG card at etools.hig.se, there you log in with your user account and password. You must be registered in Ladok to order your card. The HiG card is sent home to your population registration address. Estimated processing time is 1-3 days and postage.
Please note that if you want to pick up your HiG card at the reception, you should not order your card via etools.se
