Week numbers

In Sweden we use week numbers to refer to particular weeks. You may have noticed in your welcome letter and other places that week numbers are used to indicate, for example, the start of courses. Here you will find information on how to add week numbers to Outlook and Calendar.

How it works

Week numbers refer to the number of week in a year, starting with week 1 first week of January and ending with week 52 at the end of December.

The week number refers to the whole week, starting Monday and ending Sunday. So, if you, for example, have a course starting in week 35 you still need to find out which day of this week the first lecture is by checking your timetable at schema.hig.se or the Kronox app.

Below you will find how to add week numbers to your Outlook calendar or the Calendar app for iPhone/iPad. You can also see week numbers online.

Add week numbers to your Outlook calendar

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. Click Calendar.
  3. Under Display options, select or clear the Show week numbers in the month view and in the Date Navigator check box.

Add week numbers to Calendar for iPhone/iPad

  1. Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Turn On the option for Week Numbers, which can be found under the Calendars subsection.
