The spread of the coronavirus is a unique situation with consequences that affect our society, and the rest of the world. Regarding teaching format this spring semester 2021, the University of Gävle has taken the decision that programmes will be taught in the announced format, but with adaptations to the pandemic. Course modules that can’t be carried out safely will be taught remotely. Please note a new decision could be made if the situation worsens closer to January 2021.

At the moment, due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 situation, the Introduction day will be will be replaced by a digital introduction. Any changes to the Introduction day will be posted on our website.
Pre-program activities are scheduled from Monday January 11- January 15, at 9AM – 3PM (Swedish time).

It is very important to attend the activities and prepare for your studies. The vice Chancellor of the University decided the teaching will be digital because of the corona pandemic until the 28th of March. You will get a Zoom link to use for the participation in the introduction week.
If it will be difficult for you to attend the programme introduction session, you need to contact the programme administration in advance at e-mail email@example.com. If you are absent from the programme introduction without informing us, you will lose your place in the programme.
The semester starts on the 18th of January and it is important to participate in the lectures from the beginning. You must start the programme before February 1st.
Your studies within the programme include four periods as shown in the table beneath. Your academic year will start in January 2021 and end in January 2022, i.e. it lasts over two semesters. 30 credits per semester represent full time studies. The programme as a whole consequently comprises 60 credits. The following courses will be available within your programme.

Below you will find welcome letters for the first courses in the programme. You will find information about course registration, links to the course syllabus and reading list, timetable and more in the welcome letters. These are published at the latest four weeks before the course start date.
You need to apply for accommodation yourself. Please remember to do it in good time before your arrival. The University of Gävle does not provide any student accommodation.
As a student at the University of Gävle you have the opportunity to install
Microsoft Office on up to five computers. The Office package includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Onenote.
The library is located in the middle of campus and is open to everybody. You can reach all digital resources such as e-books and e-journals after logging in with your user account.
At the Student Centre you will meet knowledgeable staff that can assist you in just about anything regarding your studies at the University of Gävle. The Student Centre is located in building 22. You will also find a café in this area and TV displays showing current information and the daily timetabling. Eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing) gives you access to the Internet when you are staying on the University campus. It also provides internet access at other universities and colleges that are connected to eduroam. Eduroam also works at many airports, railway stations and hotels.
