Wireless network

Various wireless networks are available on the university campus.

Network Eduroam

Eduroam gives you as a student access to the Internet when you are staying on the University campus. It also provides internet access at other universities and colleges that are connected to eduroam. Eduroam also works at some airports, railway stations and hotels. Name (SSID) of the wireless network "eduroam".

To connect to eduroam, your user account needs to have the highest level of certificate, sometimes also known as extended user account. You have an extended user account if you collected your account in person in IT support.
Bring a valid ID when you are visiting IT support.

How to connect to eduroam

Network hig

If you are a student and visiting college often it is recommended that you use Eduroam for Internet access. If you want to access the Internet occasionally, you can use our wireless network name (SSID) "hig".

The network is available in public areas within campus. Open a browser and type in any URL. You get up a Web page with information about login. You log in with your usual username and password. To visit www.hig.se requires no login.

Remember that "hig" is an unencrypted network.

Possible errors

Your network configuration must be set to accept an IP-address through DHCP. Please note, no proxy server is needed to surf the internet.
