Changes at the library due to coronavirus

The library is currently open as usual. If you are unable to visit in person, you can contact us via email or phone.

Are you sick and unable to return or borrow books?

Borrow books

You can send someone else to borrow books or collect reserved books for you. That person must provide his or her own ID as well as yours.

Returning library books

  • First, check if you are able to borrow the book through your library account. Log in to your library account.
  • If the book is reserved, you cannot borrow it yourself. Please contact the library via email: biblioteket@hig.se or phone: 026-64 85 48
  • Someone else may return books on your behalf, either in the library or in our return box which is located outside the entrance to the Student Centre.
  • Send the book to us via mail, to the following address: University of Gävle, Library, 801 76 Gävle
  • No late fees will be accrued starting from Monday 16/3

Returning interlibrary loans

If you wish to renew your interlibrary loan (books borrowed from another library), contact us on: bibfjarr@hig.se

Are you waiting for a book you have reserved?

It may take longer than usual to receive your reserved book, since some borrowers may not be able to return books in time. Your reservation will remain in place until you either receive the book or inform us that you no longer require it.
