Face masks recommended for students in the Library

2021-03-03

Due to new restrictions issued by Region Gävleborg, visitors to the Library are recommended to wear face masks.

On their webpage Region Gävleborg writes: “Use disposable medical face masks in situations in which close contact indoors during a prolonged period of time cannot be avoided, for example in workplaces in which it is hard to keep a safe distance.”

This means that visitors to the University Library and to our group study rooms must wear face masks. It is also important to respect the limitations regarding the number of individuals in each group study room. In the Library, the limit is four people in each group study room.

Focus on how the group study rooms are used

“We will monitor bookings for the group study rooms and also make visits to the Library to determine if additional measures need to be taken,” says Maria Strand, head of the Division of Educational Support. “Moreover, we recommend all our visitors to wear face masks.”

Face mask will be available at the Library for visitors who do not bring their own.

All staff at University of Gävle are also recommended wear face masks whenever they cannot keep a safe distance to others on campus. Moreover, Region Gävleborg recommends everyone to wear a facemask when commuting to work.

Use a face mask and keep following all general recommendations

“We would like to remind you that wearing a facemask doesn’t mean that you don’t need to follow general recommendations about suppressing transmission of COVID-19. Stay at home if you have symptoms, keep a safe distance, wash your hands often, avoid crowds and only socialize with a limited number of people.”
