This course focuses on ways that both reading and writing are creative processes. It explores the links between reading and writing creatively, and more particularly creative response to texts in various genres that can be loosely defined as “personal narrative.” Selected literary texts are read and discussed; creative writing is used to respond to the texts, as well as to expand beyond the texts read. In addition to enhancing textual awareness and writerly ability, the course also offers opportunity for language proficiency training. Active student participation and interaction for example in the form of peer response work are central aspects of the course format. Good knowledge of Swedish is a requirement for this course (see course admissions requirements)
