Study Programme in Humans-Culture-Religion 180 cr

In an increasingly multicultural Sweden, a more diverse population should be able to live together. How do we build a society where everyone can feel welcome and included? The Study Programme in Humans Culture Religion gives you the tools you need to understand and act in your own time and the shared world we live in.

Become a scholar of religion and culture

Globalisation, conflicts and migration make immigration, multiculturalism and integration important issues in Sweden. Society is becoming increasingly heterogeneous and diverse as people with different cultural and religious backgrounds come together, raising different questions. How can we understand and accept each other? How can we coexist despite our differences? People with knowledge of religions, culture and life issues are therefore becoming key figures in today's society and the Study Programme in Humans Culture Religion gives you the skills to become one of them.

What can I do after the programme?

Your skills will enable you to work with people in many different areas and in many different workplaces, such as the Swedish Migration Agency, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Public Employment Service, the County Administrative Board, the Police Authority, the Swedish Pensions Agency, the Social Services, municipalities and regions, voluntary organisations, study associations, associations and communities, schools and other education providers.

The more multicultural our society becomes, the more attractive your skills will be on the labour market. If you have a previous education, the Study Programme in Humans Culture Religion gives you a competitive complementary skill set.

Opportunities for further education

With the general bachelor's degree in religious studies that the programme provides, you can also apply for advanced studies in the subject - for example the master's programme in religious studies we offer at the University of Gävle.
