Year 1

Semester 1
Gerontological Nursing 7.5 hp
Field Nursing

The course is aimed at those who wish to deepen their knowledge of theories of ageing, concepts within gerontology, being an older person in society, person-centred care, transcultural care, socioeconomic background, gender, ageism, addiction and sexuality, ageing in a lifecourse perspective, prevention and health promotion, clinical assessment of older individuals’ health status in different life situations, including end-of-life, from a health-promoting and caring perspective, as well as clinical assessment methods and dialogue with the older person about their health status.

Nursing Science - Scientific method and theory on advanced level 7.5 hp
Field Nursing

The course is aimed at those who wish to deepen their knowledge of different perspectives of philosophy of science, qualitative and quantitative research approaches including methods of data analysis, research designs, qualitative and quantitative research methodology, research ethics, and analysis and evaluation of scientific literature and research results.
