Shape plans and develop cities

If this sounds exciting then the Study Programme in Spatial Planning is the obvious choice for you! Here you will learn to make comprehensive and detailed development plans, shape and visualize the plans in 2D and 3D and use geographical information systems (GIS) as analytical tools. You will also study the development of cities - how they can be renewed and adapted to our current needs - and connect this to current practical cases.

Plan for a future in Sweden or abroad

After the completed education you will have plenty of career opportunities Social planners are in great demand from social planning offices within municipalities, county administrative boards, construction companies, consultancy companies or authorities such as the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency.

If you would like to further your education you could continue studying at Master level within social planning, social geography or physical geography in Sweden and the rest of Europe. In Canada, the University of Gävle has a well-established exchange programme with Thompson Rivers University.
