Regional Development 7.5 cr
Field Spatial Planning, Geography

The course provides deeper knowledge in the development of labor market regions, localization theories, regional expansion, cluster development, regional policy, rural development and the tension between growing regions and sparsely populated regions. The course uses statistical analysis methods to create conditions for knowledge-based regional development. After finishing this course, the student will have an understanding of the social, economic and political forces that create a region and how they can be used to develop a strategic plan for a sustainable region.

The course focuses on how economics function in the society and influence the environment, and how management tools can be used to benefit the environment and sustainability.
