Special service for distance students at University of Gävle

Printed books in our possession can be sent to you through the post if you are a distant student who lives more than 50 km from Gävle here in Sweden. We only send books within Sweden, and please note that return postage will be at your own expense.

Please observe that textbooks need to be returned to us by the due date for you to avoid the fine (10 SEK/day) for overdue textbooks.

What do I need to do to have books sent my home address?

Our printed books and all e-books on a reading list can be found in our library catalogue. Check if the book is available on the shelf, and if so you can order it by e-mail at our adress:

If the book is checked out, you can reserve it yourself in the library catalogue. When it is available, we will notify you via e-mail and you can cancel a request within 24 hours if it is no longer needed. If you don’t cancel your request, we will send the book to you the next day.

Material that cannot be borrowed

Some material is available for reference only and cannot be borrowed. This applies to reference literature, printed journals and daily publications. As a distance student you can, for a fee, order copies of printed journal articles. The fee is 40 kr per article.

If we don’t have the book or the article

Literature unavailable at the university library can be borrowed from other libraries inside or outside of Sweden. Articles are sent home directly but books must be collected from the university library.
