Cookies are small text files that websites save on the visitor’s computer. Cookies are normally used to improve the user’s visit on the website, for instance by adapting the website to the user’s preferences, choices and interests.
No personal information about the user, like e-mails or names, is stored. There are two types of cookies:
1. a persistent, or permanent, cookie is stored on the visitor’s computer during a long period of time.
2. a session cookie is temporarily stored in the memory of your computer, during the time a user visits a website. Session cookies disappear whenever you turn off your web browser.
