Henrik Kaatari’s research is in corpus linguistics and language learning with a special focus on grammatical variation, syntactic complexity and the intersection between formality and linguistic complexity. Recently, his research has mainly focused on lexical and syntactic variation in the writing of Swedish learners of English.

CURRENT RESEARCH

Henrik Kaatari is currently running a corpus compilation project (SLEC; the Swedish Learner English Corpus). The aim of the project is to build a new national corpus of texts written by Swedish learners of English in high school.
