Industrial automation and mm-waves



Wireless communication is expected to be used more extensively in industrial automation and digitalization. There is a need for new components, systems, and test methods.


Cheaper technology enables new applications in e.g. industrial measurement technology. Telecommunication will through 5G be able to use in applications with short delays, large amounts of data, and high reliability requirements.


The purpose of the project is to give small and medium sized enterprises in the region prerequisites to be proactive in their development and choice of technology. Small and medium sized enterprises should be able to adapt the technology earlier.


The project comprises four work packages: A. Radio communication in industrial environments, B. Measurment tehnology for components, C. Industrail measurement technology, and D. Process automation and wireless communication.


The project is funded by the European Commission within the European Regional Development Fund, the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, Region Gävleborg, and University of Gävle.
