Prevent, diagnose and treat

Medical science is an area of knowledge in which topics such as anatomy, physiology, microbiology, immunology, pharmacology and pathology are studied in order to prevent, diagnose and treat diseases.

Programmes

Courses in medical science are part of the nursing programme and the specialist nursing programmes.

You can also read independent courses in anatomy and physiology, microbiology, emergency medicine and infections. The courses are given at basic or advanced levels.

If you want to deepen your knowledge in medical science in a particular field, you have the opportunity of a medical master´s degree that includes studies in research methodology, advanced courses in the chosen field and an independently written paper.

Research

Research is carried out in different areas including "living with chronic ill-health" and nursing training, where the research is aimed at developing, connecting with research and quality assurance of programmes.
