Gender issues

An equal representation of the genders at leading positions in the Centre is a high priority.

As of today, 3 of 10 members of the CMB are female. Regarding the board representatives for researchers and students, the board will express a recommendation that gender is considered at re-elections.

One of the R&D programs has a female PI. Most of the programs, however, include female senior researchers. The instructions for the PIs will include that the PI, if male, acts as a mentor for a female researcher in the process of how to manage the program.

Thus, within the 10-year time-line of the Centre, a number of female senior researchers may replace males as program PIs. Finally, the board of the CBF has already taken a general decision that when recruiting new researchers, preference should be given to women. This will also apply for positions financed by FAS.
