The garden

— a part of the treatment of children and young people with disabilities

The project includes the creation of a garden at Barn- och ungdomshabiliteringen (The Children and Young Persons Rehabilitation Centre), Gästrikland, which promotes good health.

The main purpose is to design the garden so that it provides the opportunity for stimulation of the senses and motor training for children and young people with disabilities.

The aim is also to study the effects that treatment/training carried out in the garden can have on the children's/young persons' well-being, the personnel's view of the garden as a part of the treatment and relatives' view of the significance of the outdoor environment for the children's/young persons' quality of life.
