Pressure Ulcer Prevention


PUP is a cooperation project between four universities and four county councils. A total of around 10 researchers are participating.

Sub-project 1: Heel protection for prevention of pressure sores — from ambulance to discharge, a randomized, controlled study in four county councils.

The aim was to study the incidence of pressure sores among patients over 70 years of age who are brought into hospital, with and without heel protection, and the health-economic effects.

Sub-project 2: Knowledge and attitudes towards pressure ulcer and prevention

Four studies have been published.
