READ MORE ABOUT
I am a graduate student at the Department of Health Sciences (Public Health Sciences), since autumn 2012. The preliminary title of my thesis is "Employment Conditions and inequities in Health" and I will use data from the Gävle Household, Labour Market and Health Outcomes Survey) based and funded by the University of Gävle.
The first data collection was conducted in spring 2012 and the plan is to make a new measurement at the same time in 2014. Within GHOLDH and the data collection made in 2012, four studies are planned. Expectations are that the thesis will increase understanding of the mechanisms and the way in which employment and labor market policies affect the physical and mental health of residents in Gävle Municipality in terms of inequalities/inequities. Since the effects of employment on health and health inequalities are pervasive, the potential results of this thesis also can contribute, and assist local governments in their efforts to design appropriate measures for fair labor policies which are protective of health.
