Erasmus+ programme
Erasmus+ is the European Commission's programme for European cooperation in education, training, youth and sport.
The Erasmus Programme
The Erasmus Programme is an EU exchange student programme that has been in existence since the late 1980s™. Its purpose is to provide foreign exchange options for students from within the European Union and it involves many of the best universities and seats of learning on the continent.

How Does the Erasmus Programme Work?
The programme is aimed at cross-border cooperation between states to aid the growth of international studying, and with over 4000 students involved in the programme at any one time it offers an excellent chance of experience abroad.
How Long Can Students Go Abroad?
Students can go abroad for 2 to 12 months (including a complementary traineeship period, if planned). The same student may receive grants for studying or being trained abroad totalling up to 12 months maximum per each cycle of study:
- During the first study cycle (Bachelor or equivalent) including the short-cycle (EQF levels 5 and 6).
- During the second study cycle (Master or equivalent of EQF level 7).
- During the third cycle as doctoral candidate (Doctoral level or EQF level 8).
The duration of a traineeship by recent graduates counts towards the 12 months maximum of the cycle during which they apply for the traineeship.
Requirements
Students must be registered in a higher education institution and enrolled in studies leading to a recognised degree or other recognised tertiary level qualification (up to and including the level of doctorate).
The mobility is carried out in the framework of prior inter-institutional agreements between the sending and receiving institutions, both of which must be holders of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (if located in a Programme country).

Language test
When you go on a study exchange or internship within the Erasmus+ programme, you are required to take a language test – the Erasmus+ Online Linguistic Support (OLS) language assessment – before and after your time abroad. If you wish to improve your language proficiency, you will have the opportunity to follow an online language course before and during your time abroad. More information.
Erasmus+ App
As a Erasmus+ student you will use a Erasmus+ App, mobile application that guides Erasmus+ participants every step of the way.

Scholarship and extra funds for students with disabilities
Erasmus+ offers scholarships for exchange studies and traineeship.
Scholarship amount is between 460€ - 515€ for exchange studies. For traineeship it is 555€ - 615€.
Additional funding is available for participants with physical, mental or health-related conditions via the Erasmus+ special needs support. Erasmus+ grants may therefore be higher than the regular study, traineeship or staff grants to offset the specific difficulties faced by the participant (such as adapted accommodation, travel assistance, medical attendance, supportive equipment, adaption of learning material, an accompanying person for students and staff with disabilities). This additional support grant is a contribution based on real costs. Please contact the International Office for more information.
Extra funds for students with children
Students who travel with children can receive an additional grant of EUR 200 per month for travel abroad on an Erasmus exchange for study within Europe. The student receives EUR 200 regardless of whether they are travelling with one child or several.

As a Erasmus+ student you can choose to travel to your exchange/traineeship by train, bus or carpool and get extra money for it, 50EUR extra added to your scholarship.
