Bachelor/Master of Education

Bachelor/Master of Education, in line with previous regulations — preschool/early years requires;

  • completed course requirements worth a total of 210 ECTS credits,
  • general education, 90 ECTS credits, including 15 credits from teaching practice (VFU) and a degree project worth 15 credits
  • a specialisation worth at least 60 ECTS credits approved for teaching and other educational work in the early years of primary education, including 15 ECTS credits from teaching practice (VFU),
  • at least one specialisation worth 30 ECTS credits, and
  • reading, writing and mathematics teaching covering at least 30 ECTS credits, must be included as a specialisation. The area Fritidshem (before and after school clubs) can also be added to the name of the degree provided that the relevant specialisation in the area is included
  • completed course requirements worth a total of 240 ECTS credits,
  • general education, 90 ECTS credits, including. 15 ECTS credits teaching practice (VFU) and a degree project worth 15 ECTS credits at first cycle level
  • a specialisation worth at least 60 ECTS credits approved for teaching and other educational work in the early years of primary education, including 15 ECTS credits from teaching practice (VFU),
  • at least one specialisation worth 30 ECTS credits,
  • reading, writing and mathematics teaching covering 30 ECTS credits, must be included as a specialisation
  • the above must include courses worth at least 60 ECTS credits at second cycle level, including a degree project worth 15 ECTS credits or 30 ECTS credits.
 

Bachelor/Master of Education, in line with previous regulations — secondary/upper secondary school requires;

  • completed course requirements worth a total of 270, 300 ECTS credits,
  • general education, 90 ECTS credits, including 15 credits from teaching practice (VFU) and a degree project worth 15 ECTS credits at first cycle level
  • a specialisation worth at least 90 ECTS credits approved for teaching and other educational work in secondary education, including 15 ECTS credits from teaching practice (VFU).
  • a specialisation worth at least 60 ECTS credits approved for teaching and other educational work in secondary education, including 15 ECTS credits from teaching practice (VFU). For teaching in Swedish and Social Studies 90 ECTS credits are required in areas relevant to these subjects,
  • the above must include courses worth at least 60 ECTS credits at second cycle level, including a degree project worth 15 ECTS credits or 30 ECTS credits.
 

Bachelor/Master of Education for upper secondary school requires;

  •  completed course requirements worth a total of 270, 300 ECTS credits,
  • general education, 90 ECTS credits, including 15 credits from teaching practice (VFU) and a degree project worth 15 ECTS credits at first cycle level
  • two special subjects each worth at least 90 ECTS credits approved for teaching and other educational work in upper secondary schools, including 15 ECTS credits from teaching practice (VFU). For teaching in Swedish and Social Studies 120 ECTS credits are required in areas relevant to these subjects,
  • the above must include courses worth at least 60 ECTS credits at second cycle level, including a degree project worth 15 ECTS credits or 30 ECTS credits.
