We want to create places where we people thrive to live, at the same time that we reduce our climate footprint.
“We want to create places where we people thrive to live, at the same time that we reduce our climate footprint,” says Mathias Cehlin, Research Leader.
We have to succeed in achieving the climate and environmental goals and at the same time make the future city inclusive and equal. There are many challenges with growing cities and it requires that we work on several fronts.
The strength is that we have a very broad expertise that means that we can tackle all of the difficult tasks that exist to be able to create sustainable urban development. An interesting mix, where we mix researchers with very different backgrounds and state-of-the-art expertise, which makes this very exciting and unique.
The research school Future-Proof Cities, which consists of many researchers with a broad network and strong collaborative efforts with several municipalities, provides a good prerequisite for us to be able to obtain the co-production that is necessary to succeed.
“What drives me is that we have such good chances of really being able to get society on-board here and then it gets much more relevant and interesting. And it will be so exciting and fun to work together with all of the other skilled researchers at the University,” says Mathias Cehlin, Research Leader.
