Economic sustainability from a social perspective

The global economy is growing unsustainable…. How does this affects societies? An unsustainable economy contributes to inequality, which damages the social fabric of a society – increasing social divisions, status insecurity and status competition. In addition, inequality is the main driver of many threats contributing to social cohesion and a decent quality of life for all. Regarding to business organizations, economic unsustainability (profit-only perspective) can marginalize its various stakeholders, including employees and communities. The seminar will through critical lens discuss why and how a sustainable economy instead need to contribute to overall health and well-being of societies as well as to better business stability and corporate citizenship.
