Per Hilletofth föddes 1982 och växte upp i Lidköping. Efter avslutad gymnasieutbildning började han sina universitetsstudier vid Högskolan i Skövde, där han avslutade en magisterexamen i industriell ekonomi 2005. Därefter fortsatte han sina universitetsstudier vid Chalmers tekniska högskola, där han avslutade en doktorsexamen i Teknikens ekonomi och organisation 2010. Efter examen började han arbeta som universitetslektor vid Högskolan i Skövde. Han fortsatte sedan sin karriär vid Högskolan i Jönköping 2011, initialt som universitetslektor och från och med 2016 som Professor. Sedan 2020 har han varit anställd som Professor vid Högskolan i Gävle.

AKTUELL FORSKNING

Pers forskning fokuserar på industriell organisation och ekonomi med inriktning mot produktionsstrategi, produktionslokalisering, utformning av försörjningskedjor, logistik anpassad produktutveckling och integration av värdeskapande och värdeleverande processer. Han har publicerat artiklar i internationella tidskrifter inklusive Production Planning and Control, Expert Systems with Applications, Industrial Management and Data Systems, Journal of Business and Industrial Marketing, Innovation: Organization and Management, Journal of Manufacturing Technology Management, and European Business Review. Han har redaktionella uppdrag i flera internationella tidskrifter och har varit gästredaktör för specialutgåvor i olika internationella tidskrifter, som täcker ämnen som beslutsstödsystem, hållbarhet och etik i försörjningskedjor, konkurrenskraftiga försörjningskedjor och integration av värdeskapande och värdeleverande processer. Han är regelbundet granskare inom populära tidskrifter inom sitt område. Hans forskning har vunnit flera priser för excellens.
