I have in the past year participated in a research project initiated by the Norwegian Ministry of Education (Kunnskapsdepartementet). The project is now completed and the report will be delivered in November 2011. The project has aimed to evaluate a number of tools / models used in the Norwegian preschool to map three years old children´s language skills. The aim is to provide advice on which tools are appropriate to use and which are not suitable for use in preschool. The Norwegian parliament (Stortinget) is discussing the possibility of legislate mapping all three-year old children's language in pre-school.
