From the autumn semester 2020, Canvas will replace the University's current learning management system Blackboard. You will automatically be enrolled on the course in Canvas once you have registered for your course in Ladok. Please note that it can take up to 60 minutes for the systems to synchronise but after that you will be able to see your course in Canvas.
The course International Business Strategy will be organized through CANVAS. Students will automatically be enrolled on the course in Canvas once they have registered for their course in Ladok. All information regarding the course will be available in CANVAS.
The course will be conducted through providing links to short videos on six topics of International Business strategy for the students to watch, 1 introduction meeting, 3 zoom discussion meetings to discuss the six topics, 1 guest lecture via zoom and 1 compulsory seminar via zoom. Students are requested to watch the short videos on the topics and attend the 3 zoom discussion meetings as well as the zoom guest lecture. Moreover, students need to submit an individual home exam as well as group assignments on international business strategies and literature review on international business topics as exams for this course. It is compulsory for the students to attend and participate in the group case assignment seminar.. The students also need to submit their individual home exam and other individual and group assignments on Canvas on time as per course timetable to receive grades.

The communication between students and teacher will be through zoom during, zoom introduction meeting zoom discussion meetings, zoom lectures, seminars and pre-scheduled zoom meetings as well as though e-mails and discussions on Canvas. The course contents, timetables, and information will be uploaded on Canvas for the course and all important announcements related to the course will be also on Canvas. Moreover, individual or group emails will be sent to the students’ email accounts regarding important matters related to course. Registration for exams, including re-takes, is mandatory. You can register for exams via Ladok. You need to register at least ten days before the exam date. If you didn't register in time, you can not take your exam. No exceptions are made from this rule, we do not accept registrations when the deadline is passed.
If you are a distance study student and want to take your exam off-campus, you need to apply to do so at least three weeks prior to the exam date.
After your course has finished you will be sent a web-based course evaluation questionnaire via e-mail. Your participation in the course evaluation is very valuable to us and your comments will help improve and develop the course further. All students registered on the course will receive a report of the course evaluation with all comments compiled.
You need to apply for accommodation yourself. Please remember to do it in good time before your arrival. The University of Gävle does not provide any student accommodation.

The library is located in the middle of campus and is open to everybody. You can reach all digital resources such as e-books and e-journals after logging in with your user account.
At the Student Centre you will meet knowledgeable staff that can assist you in just about anything regarding your studies at the University of Gävle. The Student Centre is located in building 22. You will also find a café in this area and TV displays showing current information and the daily timetabling. Eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing) gives you access to the Internet when you are staying on the University campus. It also provides internet access at other universities and colleges that are connected to eduroam. Eduroam also works at many airports, railway stations and hotels.
