World Social Work Day 2026
Welcome to celebrate World Social Work Day at the University. This year's theme is: Co-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society, and the day will feature presentations by students and researchers as well as discussions based on the theme.

Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. CET
Location: University , Room 33:302 and on Zoom
World Social Work Day is a global celebration highlighting the vital role of social work and social workers in society. The day aims to raise awareness about social work, showcase its contribution to communities, and promote social justice and human rights worldwide
This year's theme is inspired by the African philosophy of Harambee, which means pulling together, standing united, and taking shared responsibility. It is about building hope, harmony, and strengthening community in an increasingly divided world through cooperation, solidarity, and shared responsibility.
Program
Presentations by students, researchers, and social workers based on the theme, Harambee, and discussions among participants.
