The company began its collaboration with the University of Gävle around ten years ago, focusing primarily on promoting engineering programs to high school students.

"A major challenge for us is ensuring that we get qualified and skilled engineers at Nefab to help us develop our production and our products for customers. It’s natural to collaborate with the closest university, where the students hopefully have some roots in this region. When we recruit someone, we don’t want them to leave after 3 to 4 years. We see it as a long-term investment, where they choose to work with us for a very long time," says Pontus Eding, Marketing Manager at Nefab.

Nefab is a global company with over 4,700 employees in more than 38 countries, generating annual revenue of approximately 10.3 billion SEK.

"A very good path to take"

Andreas Hansson is a Production Engineer at Nefab and previously studied mechanical engineering at the University of Gävle. He chose a co-op program, which combines studies with planned work periods.

"I was fortunate to be offered a job immediately after graduation, so in hindsight, it was a very good path for me to take. I believe you should absolutely seize the opportunity. There’s nothing to lose for you as a student or for the company."
