We raise the rainbow flag for everyone's equal value

In connection with Gävle Pride on August 22–23, the University of Gävle will raise the rainbow flag, just as in previous years, to show its commitment to equality and rights for all.

– The University is raising the rainbow flag to emphasize the importance of diversity, equality and inclusion. These are values that today are more important than ever to highlight. The expression of different perspectives is the foundation of a democratic society, and is also crucial for knowledge development and for high quality in our teaching and research. At the University, we therefore work systematically for inclusion and against all forms of discrimination, with the goal that every employee and student should have the same opportunities, rights and obligations - regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, beliefs, disability or age," says Lars Bengtsson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Gävle.
