Reviewers for mid-term and final seminars

The information on this page is intended for those who are reviewers at the mid-term and final seminar.

Your task is to contribute to the development of the continued work and therefore you will give an opinion to the doctoral student after the seminar.

At the half-time seminar, it is customary for at least one reviewer to come from another higher education institution and one from within the University. When recruiting reviewers, an even gender distribution should be sought.

At the final seminar, it is customary to have an external reviewer from another higher education institution.

If a reviewer is an associate professor or professor, he or she may also be a member of the examining committee as a regular or reserve member at the public defense.

The reviewers' opinion

After each seminar, you will write a statement:

Use the following template for the mid-term seminar statement. docx, 73.7 kB.

Use the following template for the final seminar statement. docx, 68 kB.

You send the statement to registrator@hig.se

The reviewer who is externally recruited can either sign his/her statement digitally before it is sent or refrain from signing, as it is considered an incoming document and signing is therefore not necessary. The internal reviewer signs his/her opinion digitally before submitting it.

The Registrar registers the document(s) and forwards it to UBS for registration in Ladok, and to the Academic Secretary for any payment of fees to the external reviewer.
