Electronic tracking system

Electronic tracking system in dementia care — in cooperation with university, companies and the public sector

The overall aim is to describe people with dementia and caregivers' attitudes towards and experience of using ICT support in their daily life/care of people with dementia. One aim is also to compare caregivers' estimation of the care recipient's quality of life, behavioral/psychological symptoms, burden of care and limitations in the caregiver's life related to the care of the person with dementia before and after the introduction of a passive positioning alarm.

The project includes six sub-studies, where data are collected with interviews, observations and questionnaires and processed with qualitative and quantitative methods.

Collaboration in the project takes place with both industry (FPX) and public activities (municipal elderly care) as well as with several universities. The project has received a grant of SEK 300,000 from the KK Foundation (main applicant Engström). Five studies published and one more study in progress.
