The garden
The garden - an integral part of elderly care?
The aim is to study outdoor environments for people living in nursing homes and to design health-promoting gardens that can enable better health, quality of life and well-being. In addition, the aim is to study the staff's view of the garden as part of the care and the garden as stress reduction.
A first study - mapping of gardens at about 100 nursing homes and the residents' and staff's perception of the garden has been conducted. At gardens with high values for restorative impact, an observational study was then conducted. Two studies published and further data being processed.
